Australian Jeep Grand Cherokee

Hi Scotty,

It’s Scott from downunder Australia. I’ve currently got a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 56,000 km on the clock.
I know you’re not a massive Jeep fan. I’ve had it serviced regularly but I’m concerned about the long term reliability and am considering switching to a Toyota RAV4. Obviously I’ll lose some off-road capabilities but hopefully gain better reliability.
What do you think?

regards

Scott

Hello from other Australian.
My humble view get a Toyota mate.
Never seen a jeep in the high country ...
Dont get me wrong feature and what you pay for it can make attractive but their is a reason they are cheap.
If you want real advice go to independent mechanic and ask them about jeeps and either get horrified stories or sure bring it and we can fix it $$$$$.

@klob Cheers mate. That’s kinda my gut feeling. Thanks for the reply.

I'd keep driving it until it starts giving you major problems. I know Scotty is not a fan of Fiat but consider that the US models are not built in the same factory as the ones we get down under. My daughter has a 2015 Fiat 500 POP and I have a 2015 Fiat 500 Sport and we have not had a single problem with either of them. They are however made in Poland where as the US models are made in Mexico. My local independent mechanic says they are good cars and he never has to do much more than regular servicing.
