My 2010 Mazda 3 with 95k miles has the 5 speed auto. I changed the fluid in it 7 thousand miles back and it shifts fine. But rarely whenever I take my foot off the throttle to slow down and press it again I feel a slight shudder. It’s not harsh and it doesn’t rock the car but I somewhat feel it. It also rarely happens when I’m accelerating from a stop. My guess is that the transmission is tuned for fuel economy and when I want to accelerate the transmission has to downshift and upshift quickly. Is there any reason why this happens? My transmission still shifts great but I’m just wondering.
That's how those particular transmission start to break down but sometimes they can go years before they have actual shifting problems when they're upshifting realize rebuilding one of those things cost many thousands and isn't worth the bother on an old Mazda as long as it shifts okay otherwise
