Hello!
You see, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 4 is my dream car but unfortunately due to the import laws, there's only one factory evo 4 in my country. So, people have been converting their standard lancers/ mirages into evo 4's by swapping trunk floorpan, some braces, engine, drivetrain etc. . Apparently the evo and mirage share many unibody parts and I went through a web and matched part numbers to part numbers to verify. My question is, what is your opinion on swapping unibody parts? If the welding is done by an experienced welder, will swapping the unibody parts hurt the cars's structural rigidity? And if I decide to strategically cut (properly dewelding the right panels) the whole rear end and including the quarter panels swap it into a mirage and stitch weld it, will it be as good as oem?
You have to find one damn good welder. I personally would never do something like that on a unibody car
