Hey, I have a 2015 Cadillac Escalade with 157,000 miles on it and I’ve been having transmission issues since around 80,000 miles. The transmission is a M5U 8L90 and it gives a really hard shift from 1-2 in the mornings and each gear after is not as smooth as it should be. It’s gotten to the point that there’s a few seconds in between the first 1-2 shift in the morning. I’ve only taken the car in to the dealer to specifically look at the transmission once, but I would generally ask them to take a look every time I took it in for regular maintenance. They would tell me the transmission behaves “normally” and they couldn’t recreate any issues I’ve had until they finally told me to straight up replace my transmission at my last service at 153,000 miles. Any suggestions for the transmission? Should I replace it or do something else so I can keep driving it till the rest of the car goes out?
Well those transmissions cost a fortune to replace. And they just cover their own asses by saying oh that's normal. And yeah it's normal for those clunkers and I made that well. If I were you I just drive the thing until it broke it and get something better
