Ball Joint: Can’t screw in nut.

I need help figuring out how to finish up a ball joint job. I got the ball joint out and a new one pressed in. And I got the o ring installed. All that was a PITA

I thought the hard part was over. But I can’t get the damn nut on the ball joint screw.

Every time I try to screw the bolt on, the whole ball joint rotates.

I’ve tried c clamps, pliers, and it’s the same story.

How do I get a simple nut onto the ball joint screw?  Ie, how do I stop the ball joint from rotating?

1999 Honda Accord.

The threaded part may have an allen or star driver on top.

Or you need to get a pry bar to wedge the ball joint till the nut catches.
Just google, "how to tighten a ball joint that keeps spinning".

@carlos
Thanks for the suggestions.

I just tried both to no avail.

There was no hex or Star. I did notice a small divet at the bottom of the screw, but it was smooth, and didn’t look like a tool could fit.

I also tried the pry bar thing, but that didn’t work either.

Thanks though for the suggestions!

Ugh! Maybe put a split lock washer on first. Or some sand at the base for grip.
