The 4L60E in my 2005 avalanche is on its last legs here, so I'm needing to put in a new one. What is the best place to buy one? I prefer a remanufactured, but if there are very high quality rebuilt ones available that would be great too. looking for the best price to life ratio.

It depends where you are.
Ideally, get it from the same supplier that GM uses.
If you're having it installed for you, just visit a reputable tranny shop . They will have a good source, because they don't like come-backs either.
Make sure it comes with a good warranty.

I know Autozone used to sell them in the past. Came with a 3 year warranty. Not sure about now.
