What is the best website and/or app to look for a used car from an individual seller? I want to use Scotty’s advice and purchase from an individual instead of a dealership.

Agree with AD99. But watch out on Facebook....TONS of scammers. Always liked Craigslist...you just have to be patient and search for probably 3-4 weeks before you find a good deal.

Check Craigslist, Facebook marketplace, or Ebay motors - these usually have more people listing their own cars for sale instead of dealerships. You can also try Autotrader, Cargurus, Autotempest and select the private seller filter.
I like to use craigslist for by owner and cargurus for dealer sales.

What worked phenomenally fast and well for me recently was using Facebook. What works in one market may vary in others - I didnt find any or many private sellers outside of FB and CL and its a sorting game no matter which sites you choose.
