Hello!
I'm looking for a used vehicle for mom & 2 teens to go on adventures. (All of our trips seem to be adventures! Lol)
Looking to spend less than $3500-4000. In my area there are some Odysseys, Siennas, Kia Vans, Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravans in my price range. Wondering also about a Highlander ($4500 +) or a Ford Expedition or Toyota Avalon or large sedan. <-- Large sedans probably would make it more challenging to put a tent, fishing poles, cooler, sleeping bags, tackle box, 1,000 electronic devices and all other crap the kids can throw in there.
The last thing we need is to get a people hauler and have it come up with a major issue. Budget is tight with mom & two creatures that devour every bit of food they can find, and grow at around 1' per minute. Would a Town & Country or Caravan hold up? Kia Sedona, big SUV, or do I bite the bullet and go with Sienna or Odyssey?
All suggestions welcome!! It's just hard to decide which one would meet our needs, but not kill my savings.
Maybe I could stick a roof rack or a trailer hitch on the back of a Camry!!!
Thanks very much!
By the way, the used Hondas, Toyotas in my area have Very High miles... 200,000+ + Some are pretty old, but that doesn't necessarily bug me.
Well I currently drive an '04 Town and Country with 143k miles on it. I've had that car for 2 years with the original engine and transmission and it still runs and drives like a clock. It's not a terrible choice- have a mechanic look it over and take care of the car. If the budget concerns you then I would go for that.
You could find a full-size SUV in that price range but they would all be worn out- that is something to be careful with.
I would also avoid the Kia because they will fall apart after 100k.
Get a sienna from (2004-2010). They are bulletproof.
Sienna would be a good choice.
Does anybody have a Dodge Grand Caravan with 150,000+ that has been trouble-free? Also, is Town & Country the same van, only gussied up?
Sienna is my top choice, but I was thinking of choosing a cheaper van.
Thoughts?
