Bleeding brakes

Hi everyone

I had to change one caliper (rear left) on my wife’s 2011 suzuki kizashi and after I’ve finished i bleed the brakes on that side only. (Since then i haven’t driven the car)

My friend told me that i don’t need to bleed the brakes on all 4 wheels since I’ve worked only on that particular caliper.
is he right?

Do i have to bleed the brakes on the other 3 wheels (just to be 100% safe ) or is not mandatory?

thanks a lot

2011 suzuki kizashi

original 22yo fluid?

You might as well get them all

The fluid was pretty clean
I’m sure it was changed not long ago

depends how much fluid came out. Did you clamp off the hose before changing the caliper?

2011, not 2001. so 12 not 22 years

No i didn’t clamp off the hose because i was quick to change it

oops my bad 12 years.
well maybe not fast enough. It just takes one bubble to get back into the ABS system.

I messed up a rotor job on my car recently which resulted in fluid coming out of one caliper. I only bled that one side and it was good. It is a different car however (2009 Ford Taurus SEL) and your system may be different, and it was also the right rear which is the furthest from the master cylinder on that car, but as long as there is no more air in the system you're good. Step on the brake pedal with the car off. It will always be mushy the first time but if it's mushy the second time then there is still air in the system.

I get it, thanks for your reply
