Hello I purchased the BlueDriver Pro for $100, but I just saw the Autel MaxiDiag which goes for $200.  Which of these with your vast knowledge & experience gives you a better bang for what each costs. Thank you very much

Depends on what you need the scan tool to do.  For $100 or less, the Bluedriver Scan Tool is one of the best out there and the one I would recommend for that price point.  In general the more you pay for a scan tool the more functionality/vehicle coverage you get.  At $200 that Autel MaxiDiag MD806 to me is not 2x better than the Bluedriver;  in short, it is not worth getting.  If one is going to be looking at $200-$300 scan tools they are actually better off spending a little more and getting the $249 Autel MaxiDiag MD808 Pro which scans all computer modules within a vehicle unlike the MD806 (and does everything my $400 Tablet Autel MX808 can do except fewer services.  Also, the MD808 Pro comes with lifetime updates.)  See link: https://www.aeswave.com/MaxiDiag-MD808-Pro-p9591.html  That one is one of the best bang for the buck for a $200-$300 scan tool.

Also, when you get to those price points I only recommend buying from an  authorized dealer if you care about support, service, software updates, and warranty, and to make sure you don’t get scammed.  Some of those from Amazon are not North American models and if you need to have it serviced you have to send to China!  And Amazon is NOT an authorized dealer for Autel.  (That link I put up going to aeswave.com - they are an authorized Autel dealer whom I’ve bought stuff from in the past.)

Thank you, I appreciate your input very much, as usual you are a very big help.

Again I appreciate your reviews & input. Between the Blue Driver, the MD808 Pro which are not bi-directional & the INNOVA Carscan 5610 Pro, which is bi-directional, which in your opinion would be the best choice? Thank you again

@a_sada220 I would go with the Innova 5610 Pro, if you have the budget for it. But if you don’t have the budget for the Innova, then go with the Autel MD808 Pro. The Bluedriver unfortunately will not scan every computer module on your vehicle, and you want that ability! BTW, to see what features the Innova supports for your vehicle click below and scroll to the bottom:

Thank U again for your quick response. I hope to one day have at least 1 percent of the knowledge & experience as well as common sense as you.

I'm pretty sure scotty posted a video abt how he really liked the bluedriver scan tool so I think you should consider that one because I'm not familiar with the MaxiDiag but I think it's a safer bet to go with what you know

Autel is a good brand (my shop only uses their scan tools albeit it's like $3-5k a piece lol) And it mostly depends on what you are to use the scan tool for. For basics, blue driver is good for codes and live data and what not but not the best at erasing codes, I have found where as it SEEMS this Autel scanner services provides codes like any scan tool but also has enough good features for more further diagnosis and such. Either or, blue driver is a good bet for just surface level diag, especially since that's all most cars typically need.

BruceRee, which models do you guys use and do they read the mileage data parameter? My $400 Autel MX808 doesn’t seem to read that even though that parameter is available to read on my vehicles (per the service manual) - my scan tool can’t access it (even though it can scan every module on the car).

The Autel MaxiDiag MD806 is the model I am referring to.

@DayWalker, we use the Autel Maxisys elite, though it do be a gen or two old by now. I've don't think I've personally come across it so I couldn't tell you. Apologies.
I'm not sure why it could not find the specific parameters you are looking for though, from what I understand, the only reason it would be not scannable is if it was locked by manufacturer, for example our Autel works great, but if we wanted to reset the transmission control module on a benz we cannot. Though we have done things like roll back or is is push forward? Odo on a chrysler. The thing got fried and the new one read less, customer wanted an accurate reading so we pushed it from 130k to 200k miles

@a_sada220, yes I know, as I've said, "it SEEMS this Autel scanner services provides codes like any scan tool but also has enough good features for more further diagnosis and such."
