Hi, I have a 2003 Buick century 3.1L automatic. I have heard that the intake manifold gaskets go bad on these GM 3.1L engines. My car has 85k miles on it. My question is do all these engines need this fixed and how long should I go before fixing it and how can I tell it is going bad. Thanks so much!

do it immediately and you won't have to worry.

The updated gaskets won't go bad.

These GMs are famous for bad intake gaskets.  Install the new updated ones and sleep at night.
