Buying a Japan Car and importing

How difficult is it to import a car from Japan to the U.S.?  I looked and found some vehicles that i like and would possibly buy in the future after doing more research.  If anyone could guide me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

So to be more specific I seen vehicles like newer fj cruisers and older Toyota’s that are well priced even after adding the 2 to 6 thousand import cost. I only looked at cars that were made in both countries

The part issue is still the same. The other thing is that you have plenty of options for Japanese cars here that you really do not need to import. This is my personal opinion, others may have different ones.

I don't recommend it

There are companies out there which import cars but realize that finding parts and people who know how to work on them can be challenging.

It can be a pain to import Japanese cars into America due to strict regulations they have to apply to.
