Should I buy a new Accord

Scotty, I currently own a 2022 Ford Mustang GT which has a tapping sound coming from the passenger side of the engine. The dealership has told me that it is normal but two mechanics I've taken it to say it sounds like an issue with a lifter. I don't feel like going back and forth with the dealership in hopes that they will fix it. So I plan on selling it and getting something new.  I want to get a 2022 Honda Accord 2.0T Sport. Would this be a good car to buy? I don't do a lot of driving so I don't need anything that would last for more than 100,000 miles.

Today's lightweight turbocharged engines with GDI tend not to last as long as a normally-aspirated engine, and the turbocharger is a wear item in and of itself. With a Honda though you should be OK for 100K miles as long as you don't beat it to death.

Go for it. I always say if buying turbocharged then Honda over any other manufacturer. And especially since you don't plan on keeping it for too long you'll be fine. If you are fine with something smaller you can get a naturally aspired Civic (LX or Sport trim).

They could be an alright choice. Just don't go too liberal on it though. Any small engine with a turbocharger would puke within a small amount of mileage if it's not taken care of properly.

I think Honda Accord is a great choice, even with a turbo.

If they are still around, I also suggest a naturally aspirated Honda Civic with the K-Series engine.

The civic of today is the size of the accord of just a few generations ago. And the accord got upsized. It’s not a tiny little car that it used to be.
