I'm trying to buy a Dodge charger in the years between 2012-2020 I don't know what would be best for me using it for personal use living in a busy city. I need advice on outta the main ones I've seen 4 sale the SXT, GT, RT, & what ever else they have. I'm not sure which 1 would be best for me and more importantly what mileage would you say would be just too high & not worth buying . I've been seeing a lot of 102,00 160,000 are they worth buying with that milage? The going price I've seen is 5000 to 9,000. {black}:afraid:

The best advice we can give here would be to stay away from those if you want something reliable. If you must have one, the V6 models are less likely to have been beaten half to death than those with a V8.

You would need a good mechanic to carefully evaluate any used vehicle you are considering before purchase.

there is alot to consider buying a good car. to many to list. make sure you get one without a turbo charger. you want a chain timing belt. 4 cylinder for better mpg. 2013 or newer. front wheel drive only. a american brand so you can buy parts, and they have them stocked. my advise is buy a 2013 buick verano. only old ladys drive these buicks and they take good care of them, and they are good cars but look very luxury. you can get one with leather seats for around 11,000.00$ they use e-85 but just use regular gas for it. e-85 is 30 cents cheaper but youll be filling up more because you get less mpg with e-85. i bet you find one brand new that youll like. youll get 45 mpg.

@hsnap1 Suggesting a 50 year young lady.. look at "old lady's cars".. well, your playing with dynamite!!!

I am thrilled you took the time out 2 even answer my question but can I pls say yes I am 50+ yrs old. However, that's only the number that happens to be from my birth certificate. I am nothing like what you probably think. I'm thinking the charger isn't the best decision I can make & that's why I'm coming to you. I have had ok cars in the past but none that I really liked. Now I want something not only HOT but yeah, reliable and dependable also so I don't know where does that leave me. If you knew me that Buick that someone spoke about that wouldn't have even came up trust me. What do you think. Pls 4 get the age the only reason why I even mentioned it was because I didn't want to get taken while I go try to buy one because I am older and I just didn't want someone to you know take advantage. {black}:gape:

Ok, the weakest part of most Chrysler(Stellantis) cars is the electronics.  So you want to pick one with as few high-tech options as possible.

I’m definitely with @chucktobias on a V6 for exactly the reason he mentioned.  However, the 5.7 Hemi is one of the best, most durable engines out there (my wife’s Grand Cherokee is about to go over 200,000 miles without any engine problems); if you can confirm that it was well maintained, a V8 could also be a good choice.

COOL, thank you for the reply and yeah the electronics are pretty important to me too.

None of them are really very reliable, unfortunately. Try to stick with a V6 if you absolutely must have the Dodge, as @chucktobias and @Dad2LM2 say. They're much less likely to have been driven "enthusiastically", aka, been driven the crap out of. If you're flexible, you might consider a V6 Mustang pre-2015 as well. Ford was generally more reliable in that era.

I hear you. The V8 Charger looks nice and sounds nice but dependability and reliability aren't traits that jump out when I hear "Dodge Charger". They're probably average at best. The V8 engines generally get dogged in those cars.

If your in for a hot Charger purchase make sure and have a mechanic give it a thorough inspection. It's service history and mileage should be verified. The style and overall appearance are nice but it's the Hemi engine that is the cars soul.

This site shows which years you might find wise to avoid.
