Scotty I have been following your video on youtube for a while. I was convinced that a 2008 Toyota Camry was the car we need so I purchase it thinking I had made good investment, but the car had the 2.4 liter engine where the piston rings failed to send the oil to the crankcase. I just recently viewed a video that you did; where the owner replace a bad 2.4 liter engine in a used Scion with the newer 2.5 liter engine. Is this possible with the Camry 2008? I would love to hear your response on this vehicle. Camry dead in driveway. Friend saying don't put anymore money in this car.
Yes it is possible to do that but you need a good mechanic and of course you got to make sure you get a good used engine too. Toyota doesn't sound, no engine so you'd have to buy a used one
Can you recommend a good mechanic in Memphis? As well as a good prayer on finding a used 2.5 liter engine in excellent shape. If most drivers through out America drive like Memphis drivers they should have a good stock pile of them in junk yards across the U.S. 🙂 Sometimes you've got to grin to keep from crying.
There are some mechanic referrals in the FAQ but unfortunately I don't think there are any in the Memphis area.
Scotty: Do you know the mechanic that replaced the engine in this video: https://youtu.be/i_6FaplyLPE?si=ideG5t9D56RGOe9O
