I have a 2016 Chrysler 200 limited 2.4L automatic transmission.
I spotted a bunch of what looked like grease all over the wheel well and the inside of the wheel on the front passenger side wheel. I cleaned it up and to my understanding that was from my cv axle boot. I cleaned it up and cannot find any tears, rips or holes in the boot, I was thinking it has to be coming out from where the clamp holds the boot to the axle bar. I wanted to know if I can use a hose clamp to replace the clamp that was on it? If so what size clamp for the smaller end of the boot?
A clamp may tear into the rubber over time. I use zip ties for stuff like that.
nah a hose clamp might work itself loose, and may even throw off the balance.
The proper tool for the job is actually very inexpensive
