I was replacing my wiperblades and one of the wipers went down without a blade and cracked my windshield. It is only cracked on the outside. Can I get it repaired or do I need to replace the windshield?

It needs to be replaced, because it is unsafe and illegal to drive with a cracked windshield.
Yes I know, I just want to know if I need to get it repaired or replaced entirely.
Hard to tell with the reflections - perhaps you could d a close up with a ruler? Note that many insurance policies will pay 100% for a repair (they don't want to pay for a replacement either). Talk to your agent - if nothing else, they will know a couple places that will give you good service at a good price, they arrange for dozens a year.

If the crack cannot be covered up by a dollar bill (meaning less than about 6 inches long ) they probably can’t repair it because the tool won’t be able to create a vacuum to draw the repair material into the crack.
