i cant get this fluid.

i can get Penrite atf LV

i cant get this fluid.

I see Toyota WS fluid available on Amazon, and at various Toyota dealerships

Thanks. Can you say, is it NEVER ok to top up with a different brands ATF that is ‘suitable’ for vehicle, and be basically mixing?
Thank you

No not never. But if the Toyota stuff isn’t insanely expensive then I would just use it.

Flush is never advised. Unless transmission has problems, and you want to try as a last resort. I checked Ebay and they have Toyota ws fluid for sale. Stick to original fluid.

To answer your question "Can you say, is it NEVER ok to top up with a different brands ATF that is ‘suitable’ for vehicle, and be basically mixing?"

I am a bit of a rebel on this forum I guess, I have used Valvoline max life atf in 2 corollas with no issue, and I have used amsoil signature series atf in several toyota and Lexus transmissions. Some I used the fuel efficient version of the signature series, that is the ws equivalent. I did a lot of drain and fills, and that is mixing with the previous fluid.

My 98 4runner I sold at ...225k and I had used amsoil for about 130k miles and it shifted great.

My 2013 Prius I used the fuel efficient version from 80k miles to 180k and it was fine.

My 08 GX470 I switched all fluid with amsoil fuel efficient at 125k and have 185k on it, and I have been towing like crazy with it.

99 Corolla I used valvoline at first to clean it out with drain and fills, then added some amsoil a year ago.

My 05 matrix I did the same thing, lots of valvoline, then switching some out with amsoil. 198k miles and shifting great.

Do your research, and you decide, if you can't get toyota ws for some reason, you need to find something else that will work. I did tons of research before ever trying amsoil or valvoline.

I have never heard of penrite, but a quick search showed many from australia using it in place of toyota ws.

Thank you for your experience
I will do more research
