2004 E55 AMG Supercharged 5.4 L V8 101k miles ////// hello everyone my car is having this really weird problem where it has a hard time starting when inside a parking garage, Even in the mornings when the car is entirely cold it never has this issue. Car's parked from 7AM in the morning till 2PM in the afternoon inside a multiple story parking garage, i park on the third floor if that's of any importance. AT first the car cranks for a solid 4-6 seconds and then it barely starts, I can hear a few gurgles from the engine barely starting up and then it dies. when i take out the key and put it back in to try again the car fires right up. I drive it everywhere at all times and it NEVER does this at any other place other than that parking garage. any help would be appreciated thanks!
are you parked on an incline?
water in the tank?
Maybe because you have to drive uphill to your spot, all the gas sloshes to the back of the tank and starves the pump.
No the ground is completly flat and level where im parked however i do have to go up a couple inclines to move up the floors
The first thing I would do is conduct a few experiments in order to isolate and verify if it really is the third floor creating the issue, or something else to do with the specific length of time you are stating.
Duplicate it, on a day off drive the vehicle for the same length of time and miles and park it back in your driveway from 7am to 2pm and see what happens when you try to start it?
Another test I would do is park it on a different level of the garage and see what happens? Try a lower floor without the inclines?
Since sitting over night does not duplicate the issue, I'm suspecting it's the odd length of time it's sitting for at work. I'm guessing that's the only time it will sit like that from 7am to 2pm vs how you use the vehicle for other trips.
