What do you think about the all season windshield washer fluids that some brands make?

I always buy the cheapest I can find, and typically I run the winter mix year round.

I use the orange Rain-X fluid which is pretty cheap at WalMart ($3/gallon). I've found the cheapo blue stuff will tend to freeze up on the windshield in really cold weather.

I buy the cheapest fluid from Walmart I can find because it doesn't matter.  And sometimes in a pinch I mix my own.

It's winter though, so you should be using winter mix.

Water, rubbing alcohol and a little squirt of Dove dish washing soap. Add a little blue food dye if you want it to look cool.

I use the same except I use Dawn. That is when I lived up north. Down here in Florida, Just the water and blue dawn. When I get lazy, I get a gal. at the dollar store. {pear}

I have been in some pretty good winter storms, I just make sure it is at least rated for 0 Fahrenheit or below, I have had a wimpy winter mix freeze right at the end of the squirters, that was no fun at all!

If you live in a sub-zero area, put a bottle of 70% rubbing alcohol in whatever you buy.

And make sure the defroster is on full blast before you squirt or it may freeze anyway.

won't rubbing alcohol attack the rubber blades?

glycerine soap should have antifreeze properties down to around -40

I checked the contents of a few different off the shelf products, and they seem to use various combinations of Methanol, Isopropanol, and Ethylene Glycol (engine antifreeze).
So I guess alcohol is OK.

I use the cheapest -35°F on the shelf at walmart. As long as it cleans & doesn't freeze, it's good.

If that happens to freeze on me when it hits around January I'll add some 90% rubbing alcohol to the mix.
