Car running hot

Hi Scotty, I have a 95 Ford contour gl with a 2.0l, I was wondering if I changed my temperature sender/sensor if that would help stop my car running hot while idling, I changed my rad and thermostat about 5 months ago and I noticed after changing my a/c compressor that the car ran a little hotter than usual, I haven’t had my a/c on or anything.. it’s not overheating but is running at about the 3/4 mark when idling until the fan kicks on to cool it down. As always thanks for the advice and help it always come in handy

Seems like your Low Fan Speed isn't coming on when it's idling and then the High Fan Speed is kicking on a little later to save the day.

You have a Low Speed Fan Relay and a High Speed Fan Relay in your engine compartment fuse box.

For experimental purposes, swap that Low Speed Fan relay with your A/C Clutch relay.

If that doesn't work then I'd suspect the Cooling Fan Module Resistor is faulty

Here's where it is on 1 fan and 2 fan Fords.

It's part #3.

Sounds more like you need a new radiator to me

Even After just changing it?

Somewhere in that car there's a temperature sensor for the fan that may be going bad and turning the fan on at too high a temperature. It is not necessarily the same sensor that operates the dash gauge. Did the car always wait for the temperature gauge to reach 3/4 of the way high before turning the fan on?

Not sure, but I read on a contour page that’s it pretty normal for this to happen on these cars that changing the sender/sensor unit could work if it’s an OEM part

What I don’t understand is why it happened after I changed my a/c compressor
