I have a 13 Sonata. Just had my AC worked on . Replaced condenser and compressor, and it's extension valve.

Now when driving after it gets cold, (it's not easy to replicate) I hear this noise when driving (attaching a Google photos link it's not spam promise) when it whales long I am able to shut off the ac and the sound goes away, but it'll chirp short and do it again.

I looked at the blower motor, but it doesn't make any noise.... the sounds seem like it's coming from front left.... of my vehicle.

To me it could be the compressor.

Try to listen in that area specifically.

I forgot to add that, it sucks because it only happens when driving. .... my compressor is lower passenger side, this sound appears to come out of the upper driver side. Compressor is completely brand new.

What's the condition of your fan belt and pulleys?

The whaling sound I hear (much like a tuning fork) appears to be coming from your dash and not from the engine bay area. I've once heard something similar and in that situation it turned out to be malfunctioning servo and blend door.

The thing that puzzles me is I HAVE to be driving for it to make noise, would this still be true for this?

I had this idle for 2 hours with no sound... Started to take off and boom it happened again.

I have found only one other video, and it was on YouTube and everyone said they had heard it, but no one has an answer or has given an answer except for one person... Who said it went away after that drive but with me it's been consistent for this whole week...

It looks like it's a Hyundai Specific Thing so far that I can find. The noise is unique, it's almost like a teapot sound more than anything else.

Not really. That noise occurred regardless of whether the car was sitting or moving. In that case the noise was resonating through the air ducts which made it difficult to determine the source. The glove box was taken out trying to hunt down a possible source. Removing that glove box led to noticing a 'partially functional' blend door, a servo was replaced and the noise went away.

Okay so now I'm confident it's got to be something else as it only happens when driving. . . Could an evaporator core whistle like this?? Or perhaps a partially clogged extension valve?? (Even though it was replaced)

Have you maybe thought on checking the windshield sealer? When I had a windshield replaced it would make that noise and when the repair person checked the other place did not remove all of the old sealant and when the new seal went on it created a small opening. Maybe your sealant is cracking and there is now a small opening under the windshield?
