Hello Scotty! I have a 2004 Nissan Maxima that has been a great car to me. It has over 300,000 miles on original engine and transmission! Long story short, cylinder 5 has given up the ghost so of course cel blinking, bad misfire, some shaking and I'm not gonna put a new engine in it. However, car still zooms 80-90 mph on 5 cylinders no problem. I've always maintained the car and quality oil and filter changes 3-4000 miles. My wife and I are on verge of purchasing a new house so I can't finance a new car right now. My plan is to unplug fuel injector from cylinder 5 and let it roll. I just need it to last a month or 2 and I drive about 84 miles per day back and forth to work, do u think it will make it? Thanks Scotty!

A month or two perhaps. A car can run on 5 cylinders. But if the imbalance doesn't shake it apart, then eventually it will succumb to problems that many engines with cylinder deactivation do. Engines just don't like having cold spots in them. Not to mention the fuel mixture will be off.

@imperator the how so, no compression in cylinder
