Hello! i've purchased a 2004 acura tsx with 160,000 miles on it,  i'm aware timing chains will last alot longer than belts, but i just want to know if i should think of changing them any time soon, i got the car for $2000 and it runs great. the service records show routine maintenance from around 50k miles and onward. Thank you for your time!!

stupid question i know but i'm paranoid.

You might want to see if there's a spec for tensioner extension as an indicator of chain wear, if that's easily checked.

With a few exceptions (Triumph Stag comes to mind) timing chains tend to last a very long time as long as regular oil changes with quality oil are performed.  FWIW I have nearly 360,000 miles on my original chain and it's still fine.

Timing chains normally last the life of an engine. Even when they don't they almost always never fail, they stretch, and when that happens you hear them rattling. To replace the timing chain you have to year apart the whole engine, there is a lot more labour involved replacing a timing chain than a timing belt. I have seen cars where it is a ten hour job. If it isn't making any noise I would leave it alone.

no. You typically never replace chains.
