Hey y’all. Happy 2021 to all of you beautiful people. So, a couple of weeks ago me and my roommate were looking for accessories online when he came across with a plug and play ecu. I told him that a plug and play ecu is not enough to “boost” his car. He said that the specs were for him to just plug it in and wait 10 seconds before start up. I told him that if he needs more power he needs real stuff rather than a 30 dollar plastic box. His car, 2017 Nissan Sentra SR, still has the same power and it’s worse on MPGs. Are those “ECUs” even worth it?
still has the same power and it’s worse on MPG
you already know the answer to that
No, I’d be weary of those, more harm than good. Also, it’s a Nissan Sentra - leave as is.
Complete garbage and a good way to void any warranty. They do not work.
Ita all about manufacturers catering to people who "Believe in VOODOO " and in the automotive trade their has been countless inventions which show fake promotions showing improvements in Power, MPG, and every thing else under the sun. That brings me back to the 60's...so I date myself when we went to Swap Meets which were quite a popular thing especially in So CAL using Drive-in Theaters as they needed revenue during the daytime. This guy was selling clear plastic distributor caps...which claimed that it could give you more power and faster starting..etc etc..Don't mention MPG - that was a non-issue at that time. LOL! He demoed a stock cap and then demoed the clear plastic cap...it was all on a test bench...he would simply pull the spark plug wires and you can see the reach difference between Mr Clear and Mr Stock....convinced I bought it I drank the koolaid....Installed...could not see any performace gain...but it was pretty to watch with the hood up, eng running ...while eating at A/W.
