Check Hybrid System

Topic starter

I have a 2006 Lexus RX400h with 120,000 miles.  Recently the "Check Hybrid System" warning came on along with losing the electronic power steering briefly.  After a restart of the car the power steering came back and the warning message eventually went away.  Should I be concerned that the hybrid batteries are failing?

@bikebob we also have 06 lexus rx400h with 115,000 miles and twice while driving it lost power and the check hybrid system message came on. It started up again both times. the first time it happened i took into local mechanic and they checked codes and found no problems. codes were reset. then 1 month later it happens again while on the highway. what eventually did you find out with your vehicle?

I don't think you are going to get a reply. That person hasn't been here in a year.
If you look at the date, it was posted in 2020.

Well your SUV will still contune as is but the Hybrid Battery probably powers the electric Power steering so it may be a concern. I would have the Hybrid battery condition checked by a qualified technician see what the cell values are.  You don't want to lose your steering and cause an accident.

We own a 2011 Lexus RX450H

Thank you. We are having the condition checked now.
