Hey Scotty, im interested in buying a 2003 chevy 1500 single cab with 180k miles. The guy said it needs freon so i assume its leaking. You think its a good buy? He is asking 3k.
How much and what are you gonna use it for? If $800 and a farm truck, yea, probably a good deal. If $2k and daily driver... no way. $3k and in perfect mint condition, no, just too old to be a reliable vehicle. If potential classic and investment, another story... but that ain't this truck.

the other thing is that the AC issue. 99% of the time when people say it only needs the gas, it is not the case and you will end up spending way more than you think just for the AC.
You don’t see too many Silverado s with 200k miles for a reason
that truck could be near the end of its life....
there is a leak in the closed Ac system.... adding is a waste... will need to be fixed
maybe you live in a area where Ac is not a bog deal?.... but down in TX... nope!
