I have a 2003 Chevy Cavalier with 209,000 miles on it that won’t start. Whenever I try to start it, the engine sounds like it’s trying to start, but can never successfully start. I am not low on gas, I did not drain my battery, and my oil is good. At first it was low on oil but adding more did nothing except make the engine sound a little different when failing to start. Also the check engine light is not on. Is this even worth repairing? Or is it time for me to buy a new car?
First, you need to diagnose why it's not starting. See the FAQs, we get questions about this sort of thing all the time.
Or is it time for me to buy a new car?
I mean it's 20 years old with over 200k. I'd say it served well. If you can afford a new car I'd go for it. Let someone else "appreciate" it.
