What are your thoughts on a 100,xxx+ Miles 2003 Chevy tracker automatic 2.5l v6 as a daily driver? Heard they have decent reliability and could be wrong but never heard you talk about this vehicle before

I own a 2003 Chevy Tracker with the 2.0L four cylinder engine.  In the 17 years I've owned it, I've only had to replace the 02 sensor in the exhaust manifold.  I change the oil, filter and PCV valve every three thousand miles and check everything else all the time.  Never had any other problems at all.  It's a manual trans car, made in Canada.  I don't know about the 6 cylinder motor, but the little 2.0 is a lot like the early Toyota 22r engines.  You won't get there fast but you'll get there.

Have it inspected. If it's in good shape then you could get a few years out of it. But it's a 17 yr old vehicle so it's going to have a lot of aging stuff on it. It wouldn't be my first choice for a daily driver. Don't pay more than $1000 for it.

The Chevrolet Tracker is a good car, it was a rebadged Suzuki Vitara.

The Chevrolet tracker is something to be avoided. They are cheap and they run but they will leak oil from every orifice possible. I have worked on many of the Suzuki versions and from oil leaks to head gasket problems. Most noteworthy is the front timing cover leak that is extremely common

Truth hurts I’m not sure how many you have worked on or had to reseal timing covers and oil pans and valve cover gaskets as well as the intake tubes that are prone to dry rot causing intake leaks as well as intake gaskets causing intake leaks and poor running conditions cause I’ve done a ton but hey I’m sure you know better
