I was browsing the news today, and realized on something worth asking you guys for your opinion:
https://www.bbc.com/news/business-65643064 = China overtakes Japan as world's top car exporter
Considering that the European Union has voted to ban new combustion cars by 2035, and that the US will perhaps gradually follow this trend, will China become the dominant economy worldwide?
China overtakes Japan as world's top car exporter
As a person who lives in a place with lots of Chinese cars, I am not surprised.
Chinese companies play the "cheap single use goods" game really well, much better than anyone else.
In a world were cars are built to last 8-10 years and 100k-125k miles - the Chinese have an edge.
But if you value reliability and want a car that last long, it's better to stay with the Japanese.
When it comes to quality they're obviously all jokes.
See this new Link&Co 01 having some... "issues"

They have EVs that cost like a Corolla HEV and have better range than Teslas.
Today I rode in a Chery Tiggo 8 pro and honestly, I loved it.
This ain't some bland crossover like the rest at its price, this is better than any Volvo I have ever seen.
Every car they launch is cheap, backed by a long bumper to bumper warranty, and super nice.
Also this is their "camry competitor", I haven't seen the full video but I saw the BYD Atto 4 IRL and it's impressively nice for a car that's priced just a bit above the Corolla Limited.
BUT, the big car brands are beginning to understand what consumer want are are beginning to give a fight.
With some really cool upcoming cars like the VW I.D 2 EV.

And the Kia E-Niro has a very solid interior and exterior as well, although pricing is disponing.
BUT, do these cars that are built to last 8-10 years even make sense?...
follow this trend, will China become the dominant economy worldwide?
This is really too political to address on a car forum, but the answer is deffinetly not.
Things are always changing. Great Britain used to be the world's second largest car manufacturing nation in the world and the largest exporter of cars. (After the war the saying was "export or die".) Now apparently it's China's turn to take the top spot.
