I would like to hear your opinion regarding pros and cons of 2016-19 civic sport, golf gti, and Impreza sport. Of the three, is there one which you find to more reliable and/or fun to drive? Also, is there any model I have omitted which you think is worth a look?
Background:
Currently driving 08 Passat Wagon (89k Miles) which I have really enjoyed.
Have owned all three makes including Impreza outback sport.
Looking for a vehicle which is fun to drive and comfortable for a 6'-2" male.
Don't need top end performance, aka golf r or wrx.
The Civic has to be the first choice, both for reliability and fun driving. The Imprezas do have great leg/headroom, though and that's a key decision factor (I'm tall, and not enough room is a dealbreaker).
Thanks for the input! I definitely agree legroom can make or break it. That's one of the reasons I have liked the Passat. Designed with tall Europeans in mind.
I have a 2020 civic si and I love every bit of it. Not the same as the civic sport but I'd same similar? I recommend the civic
I would go for the Civic but only with the 2.0 engine.
I would only go with the Honda Civic Sport which has the 2.0L I4 naturally aspirated (NA) engine with port injection only (so no turbocharging and no GDI). This is as good as it gets for a modern engine and a Honda NA engine with port injection should last a long time (if well taken care of). The other two are most likely to give you issues before the Civic Sport well. For longevity and fun to drive, go with the Civic Sport. Although make sure you sit inside of one and confirm you are OK.
The K20C2 2.0 engine is direct injected (and naturally aspirated as you said)

@Kerem I know I said that before but later on in a different post (and thread) I mentioned it was port injection. In the Honda website as well as their brochure it mentions port injection - I am still amazed they still offer that.

I'm done with the internet for the day, so much conflicting information
Thanks all for the input. It seems the 2l engine is rare in searches of the usual used care sites.
