Cooling fan not working Mondeo TDCI 2L 140hp

 my cooling fan won't start when temperature rises. The gauge seems to work properly but i don't get any warning signal to tell me that the temperature is too high i have to keep my eyes on the gauge all the time. i went to a garage an they tell me that there is a dysfunction of the PCM  and that i should also change the "EEC V" modul (cost 2.500 euro). they also told me that the fan motor needed to be change (600 euro) and i checked by connecting it to a 12v battery and it was ok. i would like to know if they try to scam me or if it's possible that the diagnosis about the dysfunctional PCM and EEC V is good?

There is a sensor or switch in or around the gooseneck or the mouth of the head where the hot water comes out of the top of the engine. I have not personally worked on your type of car being in the USA... but the principles are the same.
Locate the temperature sensor and there may be more than one. One of them controls the fan and the other one runs the temp gage. Occasionally there is one sensor but in most cases for controlling a fan there is two.

First of all, make sure that the fans are not working. So, put the car in park and idle it until it gets to the operating temp. Then check out the fans to see if they work or not. If not, just change the fans. You don’t need an OEM part for that and they are not expensive.

 If the fan runs on 12v, the problem is probably the relay - Scotty and others have videos on how to check relays. I think you need to go to a different mechanic - 600 euros for a fan! Did they have it gold-plated?

Ty for the quick answer. I have already change the fan (with the fan control module include) and the problem remains. The fan works when i bypass the control module but i can let it like that because it works even when the car is stopped. It seems that i have constant 12v comming at the entry of the fan control module but nothing at the output. sorry if i'm not clear in my explanation but english is not my mother tongue

@jaydern
Turn on your A/C and check if the fan turns on. It should turn on regardless of what the coolant temperature is when you turn the A/C on. If it does NOT turn on, then there is something wrong with the fan control module/relay. If it does turn on, then try replacing the coolant temperature sensor. It works hand in hand with the fan control module.

i don't know if it has something to do with my probleme but the A/C is not working either. I went for a leak detection and they told me that the compressor won't activate.

Anyway i still tryed your tip and turned the A/C on and the fan won't start. i switched cooling fan relay and heated windscreen relay and tryed again to turn the A/C on but it's still not working.
