cooling fan stop working and unexpected aceleration

Both of our cars are in trouble: first I have a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado with 187,000 miles on it and Dad uses it for work and when he came home he first felt a push and later the truck accelerates on its own. It accelerated so much that it stopped and couldn't run anymore. Then he waited a moment and started accelerating well. But he came from 20-30 mph to be sure. The mechanic came today (he used a MIchey Mause computer by the way) and told us that there is a problem with the torque converter clutch solenoid. I don't know if it's the transmission because until now it hasn't given any symptoms of sleping. On the other hand, our 2007 honda accord 211,000 miles (I think), has a bad right cooling fan. What can it be in these two cases? Thank you very much for your help, I really need it.

For the Colorado I would clean the throttle body and check its operation before blaming the transmission. Also check the accelerator pedal sending unit. Testing the electronic throttle body will probably require a bidirectional scan tool.

If fuse and relay for the fan on the Honda are OK, test the fan itself to see if it works. If it does you'll need to trace the circuitry back to find the fault. (Or, as Scotty has suggested in his videos, install a new circuit with a manual switch to operate the fan.)

Those two questions should have been posted as separate topics.
