Power locks make noise and self activate when it rains

1998 F-150.

When it rains, opening the door with the key, the locks Growl..then pop up..then growl down, pop, over and over.

ECU?  Can it be wetproofed?

You probably have water getting past worn 25-year-old window seals and getting into the locks. You'd need to open up the doors, dry everything out, check wiring and connectors for corrosion, replace the (probably) deteriorated vapor barriers, and replace the window seals.


You're right, that will not hurt. Well, just a bit in the pocket.
