This car was driving perfect till all this happened. So after a ton of research , I changed both speed sensors on the car. I had a p0500 code which said to go to Spd sensor A. I called Toyota parts and they said change the input sensor based on issues but I went ahead and changed both. Symptoms are the same except now it shifts worse. I did not have shifting problems after the problem started just the stuff I wrote on top. So here's the questions.
1 - I see that one sensor is black and then other sorta green. The black one is sold as both input and output. IDK why the heck this is. I installed a black input based on what toyota told me but then what's the black output for?. Was this the right thing to do? Should it be a black input or black output ?
2. I bought a black input NGK from Amazon cause I could return it if it didn't work but it was expensive. Would you say I should change both and buy from Toyota cause they'll always work and aftermarket many times don't? Should I put back the original green one and leave the new black. ? How do I trouble shoot if its a two sensor system and I don't know which is bad?
3. Arei the sensors the problem in the first place.? After test drive no more codes or CEL on but car is worse. Please advise Scotty. Thank you man!
Well first of all I would only use Toyota sensors. I would start there because there's too many complex problems that can start if the sensors don't have the perfect data in them often That is the only problem
But Scotty based on symptoms does that's sound like the fix for my car? Again no speedometer, odometer, cruise and check engine light. TY
