Hi Scotty. Got a 2012 CRV with CVT. Currently with 62k miles. I feel like I should change the CVT fluid. Please guide on how to change it correctly without damaging it. I have read Honda are very specific

Did an internet search and lot's of info came up. Here's one of them.

2012 CVT transmission | Honda CR-V Owners Club Forums (crvownersclub.com)

Check your owner’s manual. If your vehicle was made for the American market, the CR-V still had a conventional 5 speed torque converter automatic in the 2012 model.

DO NOT put the Honda HCF-2 CVT fluid in a conventional automatic transmission which calls for DW-1 ATF.

All the best!

+1 @toyotagrl.

Make sure you only use Honda OEM fluid. Do not add anything else.

Mine is from the Japanese Market. It is a 2.0 ltr CVT. American ones started from 2.4ltr and used the automatic transmission.

Thanks for the clarification. Then yeah, I would change it (and the CVT filter, if equipped) using the OEM Honda fluid.
