Hello all. I have a 2014 Subaru Forester 2.5i with the lineartronic CVT. It makes a loud whine under acceleration while the engine is cold. Once the engine is up to operating temperature the noise goes away. Is this normal? This is the first CVT vehicle I’ve ever owned and I haven’t had a problem like this with a regular automatic before. Car only has 60k.

Usually whining like that is an indication your CVT is going out, especially if it is during acceleration. Subaru CVT's are known to have issues unfortunately.
