Decreasing rims offsite

Hi everyone,

I am looking for new rims for my Subaru outback.
My cars OEM black steel rims offsite is +55. The best thing I could find online is +40.
My question is does +40 offsite fit for my outback? I am worried about decreased offsite can not provide enough room for brake system components.

Thank you guys in advance!

Many reputable sites have whether they'll fit on your car or not, I got new wheels for both my cars through tirerack, no issues.

I just bought rims & tires off these guys: https://www.discounttiredirect.com/

I talked to a tech and he had all the answers to my questions. Plus they give discounts to vets.

are you able to test fit, or return them if they don't work?
