Desperate for HELP!
I have a 2014 Kia Forte 1.8L engine. A month or so ago the car started to run funny. Revving high but will shift once you let off the gas a bit usually only when getting to higher speeds. I have had it checked at a mechanic, no codes are coming up on it and they said probably will need a transmission rebuild. I’m unable to afford that and wonder if it might be something else. I am desperate for answers due to it being our only running vehicle. Please help! I also had the fluid drained and replaced plus an additive but so far still the same.
Mileage?

Your mechanic may well be right. However, have it diagnosed by a transmission specialist for an accurate diagnosis.
Unfortunately, >100,000 miles is when the Kia’s (and Hyundai’s) start to fall apart.
Consider selling it in this inflated used car market and buy an older Toyota or Honda product, that’s still running fine.
ok, I will see what the transmission shop has to say. I still owe on the loan but want to get rid of it if it needs a rebuild, just not worth it for us. Thank you
No problem, fingers crossed it may just be a child part that needs replacement. All the best!
