Direct injected lexus is250

I have a 2006 lexus is250 that I’ve owned for about a year now. I bought it for $5000 with 65k miles. It now has about 80k miles. I’ve heard about carbon build up with direct injection engine which this lexus has. I have not had any problems yet. (Toyota for the win!) should I do any preventative maintenance for the carbon build up. (Walnut blasting, hydrogen cleaning, oil catch can, etc.)? Thanks!

Is the car still running smoothly or does it stutter a little occasionally? Try using one of those GDI intake valve cleaners - like CRC GDI intake valve cleaner. Walnut blasting would be the best, but that might be too overkill/expensive on that Lexus. A friend on mine has a GDI Hyundai Sonata and he uses the CRC cleaner every 30-40K miles and he's had zero issues.

Thank you! It runs perfect! Haven’t even experienced any carbon build up symptoms. I’ve heard good and bad about the CRC but I’m sure it won’t hurt the Lexus lol. I’ll give it a try. I can’t find any shop willing to walnut blast anyway

As long as you don’t have any issue with the drive or gas mileage, you I’ll be fine and no need to do anything.

Thank you! That’s what I was told by a couple mechanics!

Then just go by that you should be fine!
