[Solved] Dirty blower motor resistor/control module - clean it?

2013 Mazda 3 w/ climate control. I just replaced my cabin air filter and the blower motor control module, which sits in the same space, is pretty dirty. Below is the type of resistor/module I have (auto temp control). Should it be cleaned and if so, how? Blower/temp control seems to be working fine, so I don't want to take any unnecessary risks in damaging it.

just make sure air is able to flow freely through the fins that's all . It doesn't need to be spotless.

Great, thanks

It's probably more important to make sure the electrical connections are clean and free of corrosion. A few years ago I had the connector on my resistor pack melt because of that.

Noted, thanks

I’m not sure, perhaps compressed air for now until you know more....

Yeah I considered that. Thanks.

I would use compressed air

I don’t think so. Why do you want to clean a resistor?

Just general consideration that being dirty can often be detrimental; I know next to nothing about electrical functionality though. Thanks.

I don't think it is that sensitive to dust and dirt, but cleaning it does not hurt either.,
