I have a 6 CDs charger Kenwood in my trunk. My Kenwood radio is broken. When I plug it in, there is smoke coming out from it. I got an old JVC radio with cassette and CD charger control. But the wiring harness of both are different. Does any adapter exist or can I cut the wiring harness and connect both? If yes, I would need more detailed help about it. Thanks
If you're connecting to a standard vehicle wiring harness in your vehicle, a company called Metra may have an interface cable that would need that you would connect to your JVC wiring harness. That would interface your JVC to the vehicles wiring connector. Metra will need to know what vehicle you have and what radio you are trying to install. Cutting and splicing to your vehicles wiring is not recommended. There may be a youtube video that has instructions for interfacing to your vehicles wiring.
This is not what I asked.
It sure looks like I answered your question. You asked about an adapter and I pointed you to a source that would connect your JVC to the vehicle connector. Basically the Metra adapter has to be spliced to the JVC connector and then the Metra connector will plug into the vehicles connector. If you do that then you won't need to splice into the vehicle wiring. It's no different a process than replacing an OEM radio with an aftermarket radio.
