This guy is selling his Ford ranger for $1300 and it has 261,000 miles. It has a v6 engine. I know the 4 cylinder ones can last a long time but what about the v6? Would it be worth buying?

It depends on which V6 it has. If it has the 4.0 liter then those engines were pretty good and will last you. If it had the 3.0 liter those engines were known to have some issues with cracked heads.

That's a lot of miles. The V6's were pretty good as long as they were maintained.
I'd have a mechanic check it out. If it isn't rusted underneath and runs and drives okay, it could be good for a knock around truck at $1000.
