Can I still drive with a slipping transmission? I have a 2001 Honda Odyssey with 170,000 miles and I drive 20 miles a day

Not for long.

Do you know WHY it's slipping? Have you checked your transmission fluid?

You can, for a little while. It's a ticking time bomb and will leave you stranded in the near future. Check the fluid level and condition, maybe try some Lucas trans additive (temporary bandaid at best). Start looking for a replacement vehicle. A 21-year-old Odyssey is not worth the cost of installing a replacement transmission.

If I'm not wrong, Scotty doesn’t recommend adding Lucas treatment into Honda automatic transmissions.

Could be, with so many videos it's hard to remember everything! I did a quick search and couldn't find anything specific on that but I do know that Scotty has said in general that the transmissions in the Odyssey are trouble-prone. Might well be if they're overly sensitive to fluid the Lucas could do more harm than good.

Could you? Yes.

Should you? No.

I would get it checked out and decide on a plan of action. Once they start slipping, you're on a time limit to choose before it does for you.
