My car is a 98 Ford mustang 3.8l V6 with a automatic transmission, 129103 miles and I'm getting the code p0118 which is the ect sensor high circuit but I've already replaced the sensor and fixed the break in the wires to it but when I unplug the ect my fan will start running but when I plug it back in the fan will shut off what's going on here?

Well odds are you have a failure and a computer circuit. But if the car doesn't overheat and runs okay, you could live with it. Now. Of course. That's if you did repair the wiring correctly and that you used an OEM sensor. Not some cheap Chinese knockoff that may not work at all
