I own a 2014 Honda Civic Lx Sedan CVT with 265,200 miles. When starting my car, the cranking is giving me resistance and sounding as if it will not start when cold, but starts eventually. I have had the alternator and battery replaced. I have had the car tested multiple times and received charging system failing at one shop and it is fine at several other shops. The battery that was replaced was good on Friday, but bad later on Saturday. The starter has tested good for all tests. The previous battery was from 2019 and had over 110,000 miles on it. Why is the car still not starting correctly when cold? It has been in the 50s and 60s at night and 70s and 80s during the day, which should not impact the battery or charging system. I leave all electronic off before turning off the car. Thanks.
Well, I'd have to hear the noise it makes cuz generally it just means the start is wearing out and realize you can't test the starters all that correctly. They can wear out many different ways and the tests aren't accurate for all the problems they can have. But if it cranks normally the normal speed and doesn't make odd noises. It can be lots of things like dirty fuel injectors, clocked fuel filters, weak fuel pump
