Electrical whirring noises from 08 Ford Mustang

I just bought a 2008 Ford Mustang v6 and it has no muffler (getting it put back on, I don’t like it; only mentioning because I don’t know a lot about cars and am wondering if it has to do with the issue at all) and an aftermarket stereo and speaker system and after purchasing it, I started noticing that when the stereo is on, there is this electrical whirring/buzzing noise coming from the car. When I turn off the stereo, it goes away. At first, I thought it had to do with a messup in the way the speaker system was wired, but I noticed it also comes when I turn on the headlights, but it is significantly quieter, but still there. Wondering what could cause this.

Interference. stereo was probably installed incorrectly.

Is it going to cause any damage to my car? Would this still explain the whirring when the headlights are on?

who knows. I wouldn't leave it that way.

Forgot to mention as well that it has 122,000 miles and is an automatic transmission

Obviously, whoever wired the aftermarket stereo system was from England.  Hope this article helps out.

aha, a Lucas system.
Remember to get home before dark.

Lucas holds the patent on the short circuit.

... and the first intermittent wiper!

And the self dimming headlights.
