I have a 2002 acura rsx, automatic transmition which burns oil rather quickly, it will be below minimum before the 5000km mark for the oil change, i always have to add a pint…
the car currently has 287000 km’s and uses 5w-20
any solutions ? I have no leaks what so ever and the car run’s very well aside from the oul burning too quickly
ive noticed it goes below
minimum at around 3500-4000km’s
any solutions ?
The most thorough solution is to overhaul the engine.
You could try ATS Carbon Clean which Scotty recommends in the event your oil rings are stuck due to carbon. However since you're using foreign measurements you're probably not in the U.S. and I'm not sure if that product is available internationally.
That car is over 20 years old so some wear is to be expected. Most manufacturers consider burning up to a quart of oil per 1000 miles to be "normal" even on brand new cars for warranty purposes.
