Scotty, my 2020 Kia Soul S has 1,800 miles on it but, I'm hearing some of the engines are catching on fire and there is a recall. Purchased for my mother in law against my better judgment. ONLY purchased it because of great visibility and small size... she drives by the bump and feel method. I've heard nothing from the dealership. Are you kidding me??!! Darn these guys.... BTW, I no longer own my Kia Sportage, Cadillac XT5 or Porsche Boxster... got smart and sold them all for Toyota Rav 4 and Honda Civic thanks to you!

I'm scared to ask , but what is the "bump and feel" method of driving? It sounds like your MIL needs to be taken off the road.
First of all the Soul is not a terrible car, unless you’re planing to keep it over 100k miles. As you said, great visibility, good size and I can tell mechanically they don’t fall apart until you get 110k-120k - from there they become a crap shoot.

It doesn't matter if its recalled or not, all Hyundai/Kia products from MY 2011 onwards are affected. Hyundai and Kia just aren't recalling all of them. Here is a video about said topic:

Thanks for the responses. My Mother in Law "Bump and Feel" means the county sheriff showed up at her house last year and said she left the scene of an accident. I.E. she hit a couple of cars in a parking lot and drove away. When I asked her, she said I had no idea what they were talking about. Sold her huge Cadillac XT5 SUV and got her this Soul AKA "Engine Fire Box". Lesson learned.
