Hello Scotty:
I have removed the throttle and remove the air control valve and cleaned both of a Toyota Echo 2003. The idle is fine, just the check engine light is still on, even after disconnecting the battery. Is it because air leak in the air sistem? (One of the bolts of the air filter box broke when removing to have room, so is actually secured by 2 bolts of 3) I have noticed those bolts come with a washer that seal the air filter compartment)
Well another reason can be the sparks plug and ignition coil but I think are cranking ok
Another reason can be an exost leak and I listen a rather long air when turning off the vehicle.
I will fix the broken bolt in the air filter box first, then check the ignition coils/sparks and then re-do an OBD reading.....suggestions?
I am new in Oklahoma (come driving from Toronto), and don't have relivable mechanic and AAA mechanic has a waiting list of 5 weeks...i notice the mechanics are quite cowboys here.
Thank you
Autozone will read your trouble light for free. Or consider getting your own tool for the very reasonable price of $100
Start with an OBD2 scan for codes & post them here.
